Abstract

Hypothermia is a common complication in post-anesthesia patients and can cause physiological disorders such as increased blood pressure, decomposition, and slow the healing process. This condition is often not realized by patients or families, so education is an important step in prevention efforts. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding of patients and health workers regarding the importance of preventing hypothermia after anesthesia. The method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pre-test and post-test model. The activity was carried out at RSUD Ibu Fatmawati involving 20 post-anesthesia patients as respondents. Education was provided through direct counseling using visual media and printed materials that were easy to understand. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' understanding after being given education, which was reflected in the difference between the pre-test and post-test results. This activity proves that health education plays an important role in increasing patient readiness and awareness in preventing post-anesthesia hypothermia.
